One SAFE Place Board of Directors Announces New Executive Director
Redding, CA (March 10, 2017) – The Board of Directors of One SAFE Place announced today the selection of Angela Jones as its new Executive Director, effective March 10, 2017. Jones has served in increasing leadership roles at One SAFE Place for the last fourteen years. A selection was made after a national search and selection process, during which Angela served as Interim Executive Director following the retirement of Jean King. The executive recruitment generated interest from over 50 applicants; after an extensive screening and interview process with a number of highly qualified candidates, the Community Panel and Board stood unanimously behind Jones.
Board President, Jennifer Scarborough reported, “It is with great pleasure, that after a nationwide search to fill the Executive Director’s position of One SAFE Place, we are happy to announce this promotion. It became clear to our Search Committee in reviewing the many candidates that applied for this position that our number one person for this role was here in our backyard. Angela has been with One SAFE Place for some time and has been an instrumental part of making the significant changes in our organization, as we have evolved into a leader as a nationally recognized model for Domestic Violence/Sexual Assault.”
“Over the past fourteen years, I have dedicated my life to helping others and improving our community by leveraging relationships and working towards shared goals, Jones said. This position will allow me to use my vision, drive, and unique skills to influence, align, and mobilize new and existing partner networks to continue our mission and lead the Domestic Violence/Sexual Assault field to recognize and use our unique model of service. It is my goal to expand the capacity of One SAFE Place by focusing on improving the conditions of the community through partner, donor, and funder relationships and collaboration.”
