The EXECUTIVE SUMMARY #20
#20 …just so proud!
Last Saturday night, July 8, at the Cascade Theater, 6 couples danced across the stage to the roar of over 500 admiring fans. Although some had professional dance training, most were local business owners, moms, social workers, students and individuals from the community…just anxious to make a contribution.
It was my first Dancing with the Stars, Shasta County Style, and I watched my incredible wife, Debi, and, Josiah (her dance teacher and partner), glide across the stage as her fans (especially me and our 4 sons…along with countless friends) cheered them on! At one point our 3rd son, Gabe, yelled, “I love you Mom!” Tears came to my eyes, Debi’s smile just glowed, and all was right in the world.
Such was the outpouring of love and admiration for all 6 dance teams that competed.
I was in awe!. These dancers put in 5 months and countless hours of training to choreograph every move, lift, spin, and glide. All while raising over $70,000 for One Safe Place!
Now, our community certainly has its problems and social issues. But when you see an event like this, with everyone focused on helping those most at risk, you have to believe that collectively, we can…and we will…overcome every obstacle. What a wonderful community we are blessed with…and I’m just so proud!
